magazine Cover


  • Masthead- the name of magazine  displayed in a specifc typeface

  • Dateline- month and year of publication often with the price.

  • Main image- in the case of this front cover there is a single image of the model Shania



  • Model credit- This says Shania So Hot It is unusual for such a credit to appear on a magazine  front cover but it is done sometimes on fashion magazine 

  • Cover-lines-  From the 1950s greater competiton on the newsstands resulted in more cover lines.

  • Main  cover  line- This is very large taking up almost a quarter of the magazine cover - and comes in three layers each with a different colour. 
  • Left third- The left third of the magazine cover is vital for sales in shops where the magazine is not shown full frontage. 
  • Bar Code- Standard bar code used by retailers displayed on UK Magazines since 1988. 
  • Selling Line Short Sharp Description of the titles main marketing point

Photo Shop Notes

Save As
Rename your image make sure the image is saved as a .jpg at the highest (maximum) Image quality

Save - you do not have to rename the image at this point. Save often and regularly

Nestle - tools are stacked on each other - to access those tools you have yo left click and hold

Use Command Key!!

Command + = Zoom in
Command - = Zoom out
Command o = open
Command c = copy
Command v = paste
Command z = undo
Command, shift, z = Step backward
Command s = save
Command p = print
Command l = levels

to turn an image go to

>Image>image Rotation
CW and CCW

Adjustment Levels
>Image >adjustment >levels
Channel Blue
Channel Green
Channel Red
Moved just the black and white hersheys kiss

Channel RGB - moved just the brown hersheys kiss (just a little lighter)

To Crop
Select the cropping tools and then Click and drag the area you want to crop. Before you crop,must enter the resolution you want your image to be

your Image to be saved to.

Resolution Guidelines:
yearbook = 300
Newspaper = 150
Web = 72


To make an image
Grayscale
Image > Mode > Grayscale

Year in Review


  • The reason why i like this picture is because that is pretty amazing that how it looks 
  • It mostly atteched me when I look at the moon or the stars I image that some amazing picture into my eyes wheni look into it 
  • Because it's 2013 year now and it's a new beganing to see and take craftive thing that you would want to show 



• This picture that I like about as well the way I see it is a person kind looks like your about to fall into it 
• the way I attached to it is mostly when I look down to into sky and i feel like flying in the air  
• This 2013 picture is one of the best picture that I've have seen right now and it also show a lot of new camera shot from this picture 

  • This picture that I like about is a lot  dramatic showned that when you see that gray cloud flying into the air  
• I have been atteched by its frame and action that what I'm am seen right now that if some how that the world maybe come to a end from this picture 
• it's picture right now from 2013 had really got into a new theme from the picture shot of the camera photography of  year shown pretty good stuff of show it
